Group G

Germany, Ghana, Portugal, and the USA are all strong teams that could easily make deep runs in this year’s tournament. Unfortunately, two of these team’s time in Brazil will end after the group stage. This group will be extremely fun to watch as a neutral fan, but agonizing if you support a team in the Group of Death.

1. Germany

The Germans are heading to Brazil with a lot of confidence. They have been labeled as one of the tournament favorites and anything less than first place in the group will be considered a disappointment to the Germans. Miroslav Klose needs just two goals to become the all-time leading scorer at the World Cup.

2. United States of America

The USA will make it out of the group of death. Ghana has knocked the USA out of the last two World Cups, and the USA is ready for revenge in the pivotal first match for both teams. Clint Dempsey and Jozy Altidore will find the back of the net two times apiece. Tim Howard will make fantastic saves as the USA claws their way out of the group.

3. Portugal

Portugal a.k.a Team Ronaldo + 10 other players will struggle in the group of death. Nobody knows if Ronaldo is truly fit, and if he is anything less than 100 percent ready, then Portugal has no chance of making it out of the group. Even if Ronaldo is healthy, I do not think his supporting cast has the quality to advance from the group stage.

4. Ghana

Ghana is the youngest team heading into Brazil this summer. The Black Stars will struggle to find their feet in this tournament and only pick up one point in their three guaranteed games. They will score a decent amount of goals, but their defense will let them down at the end of the tournament.
