English Premier League Predictions: Week 10

Each week, ISH Soccer Writer Adam Leightman, will predict the outcomes of every Premier League game, and one big European match as well.

Newcastle Vs. Liverpool

Newcastle hosts Liverpool in the noon kickoff on saturday. After Newcastle failed to win in their first 7 games, they have managed to go on a two game win streak. Liverpool has continued to struggle, with a 0-0 draw last week against Hull. Newcastle is playing better than Liverpool right now, but Liverpool is the better team and will take the 3 points.

Newcastle 1-2 Liverpool

Arsenal Vs. Burnley

Burnley still have not won in the Premier League this year. They sit in dead last with only 4 points from 9 games. Arsenal is already depleted by injury and its not even 10 games into the season. Burnley has to win eventually, but it will not come this weekend since the game is at home for Arsenal.

 Arsenal 2-0 Burnley

Everton Vs. Swansea City

Everton hosts Swansea as they look to win their third straight game. Everton started the year sluggish, but have bounced back by scoring 6 goals in two games. Swansea has struggled recently, but still sit in 6th place. I expect a tough game, but Everton will win their third game in a row by scoring 3 goals again.

Everton 3-1 Swansea

Chelsea Vs. QPR

Chelsea hosts QPR in a London Derby at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Chelsea has yet to lose this season as they sit in first place in the Premier League. QPR looks to pull off a shock upset as they attempt to win their second game in a row. However, Chelsea will win easily as they stay unbeaten through 10 games.

Chelsea 3-0 QPR

Leicester City Vs. West Brom

Leicester City hosts West Brom as both teams look to move up the table. Both teams sit in the bottom half of the standings, but West Brom win could propel them to the top half. Leicester have been very strong at home this year and I expect that to continue as they will beat West Brom for their third win of the season.

Leicester 1-0 West Brom

Stoke City Vs. West Ham

West Ham travels to Stoke as they look to keep their magical start going. The Hammers currently sit in 4th place after beating Manchester City last week at home. Stoke currently sits in 12th place and can not be to upset with their season so far. West Ham will fall back into reality as they are held to a draw at Stoke.

Stoke 1-1 West Ham

Hull City Vs. Southampton

Hull City hosts Southampton as both teams look to continue their strong season. Hull sits in 10th place, but they are only 5 points out of the top 4. Southampton continue to win and amaze everyone as they sit in 2nd place with 6 wins on the season. However, Southampton will fall to third place as Hull pulls the upset of the week.

Hull City 2-1 Southampton

Aston Villa Vs. Tottenham

Aston Villa hosts Tottenham in the Sunday afternoon game. Villa started the year on fire, but have lost 5 straight games and have not scored a goal during this stretch. Tottenham sits in 11th place after losing at home to Newcastle last week. I expect this game to be back and forth, but neither team will find the winning goal.

Aston Villa 0-0 Tottenham

Crystal Palace Vs. Sunderland

Crystal Palace hosts Sunderland in the Monday Night Football game of the week. This game has two teams that have struggled throughout the year. I expect both teams to be in the relegation battle at the end of the year. Crystal Palace is at home, so I expect them to take all of the points from a struggling Sunderland team.

Crystal Palace 2-0 Sunderland

Game of the Week:

Manchester City Vs. Manchester

City hosts United in the Manchester Derby on Sunday. City currently sit in 3rd place, a year after winning the title. City looks to rebound after losing last week at West Ham. Man United sit in 8th place after a draw with the current leaders Chelsea. I expect City to rebound with authority, beating their cross-town rivals by 3 goals.

Man City 4-1  ManUnited

Non-English Game of the Week:

Bayern Munich Vs. Borussia Dortmund

Bayern Munich hosts Borussia Dortmund in a clash of the German power houses. Bayern Munich sits in 1st place in the Bundesliga. They have not lost yet, and have only conceded two goals in 9 games. Dortmund, has struggled as they sit in 15th place in the table. Bayern should win this game easily, especially because it is at home.
